CAREERS AND WORK

Located in the heart of Europe, Czechia is well-positioned not only as a place to conduct business and trade, but also as an ideal home for expats. It has been able to capitalize on its strengths and develop a strong, export-oriented economy. Its service sector, which makes up approximately 60% of the national GDP, is also robust.

The Czech language is particularly difficult to learn, but communication should not be an issue, as English is widely spoken.

Czechia has numerous legal protections in place for its workers. All companies must adhere to strict government regulations on health and safety, anti-discrimination, minimum wages, part-time employment and equal opportunities.   Anyone with permanent residence in the Czech Republic who spends more than 183 days per calendar year in the country is considered a resident for tax purposes.
